As a prerequisite to employment in the Gulf countries India Nationals taking up employment to Gulf Health Council countries such as Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and United Arab Emirates (UAE) are required to be examined and issued a Medical Fitness Certificate.

The medical centers providing these services in India are collectively known as the GCC Approved Medical Centers Association.
